Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) (French)

Design Guidelines consists of two volumes. Volume 1 contains information on the designer’s approach and main design criteria for facilities. Volume 2 contains more detailed descriptions and additional information on design. The second volume’s structure makes cross referencing with the contents of Volume 1easy.

We encourage you to begin your reading by starting with chapters 1 and 2 of volume 1 in order to get an idea of the guide’s scope. This guide is an indispensable tool. Please note that this guide is constantly evolving and that some chapters or sections of chapters are updated periodically.

The most recent changes to the guide were made in May 2021, December 2020 and in August 2019 following Health Canada’s publication of new recommendations for the quality of drinking water and the modification of the Regulation respecting the quality of drinking water (March 2021). See frequently asked questions (FAQ) (French) for more details on the guide’s scope and recent updates.
